H. Clarke & Sons Ltd: Three Generations of Trust & Excellence

H Clarke & Sons Ltd is a family-run mechanical, electrical and property services contractor with roots going back over a century. We support education, public sector bodies, housing providers and commercial clients across England and Scotland, helping to keep buildings safe, compliant and operational. Our work spans new installations and upgrades through to planned maintenance and day-to-day repairs.

Many clients will know us through HCS Mechanical Services, a long-standing trading name within the Harry Clarke group. We are now bringing our services together under the H. Clarke & Sons Ltd name to better reflect the breadth of the business. The same ownership, management team and engineers remain in place, so clients continue to work with the people and expertise they already know.

Across our regional teams, we deliver a wide range of building services tailored to each contract and location. This can include heating and hot water systems, plumbing and drainage, electrical works, ventilation and other associated property services. For many customers we provide long-term framework support, combining planned maintenance, compliance checks and responsive cover, with 24/7 emergency attendance where required. Delivery is coordinated by our office-based team, who manage scheduling, certification and communication with site teams.

Training and safety are central to how we work. Our operatives maintain relevant trade qualifications and accreditations, supported by refresher training and robust health and safety procedures. This focus on competence, compliance and clear communication helps build long-term relationships and makes us a trusted extension of our clients’ estates and maintenance teams.
